Ghost Activity at Fort Knox

Q: I heard that SyFy Channel’s “Ghost Hunter” show has concluded there’s some “serious activity” going on at Fort Knox on the Penobscot River in Prospect, Maine. The show’s stars roamed the fortress with equipment searching for evidence of paranormal activity. They didn’t see any ghosts, but picked up unexplained readings. They also heard breathing noises and footsteps that couldn’t be explained. Are ghosts protecting the gold? A: What gold? This is Fort Knox, Maine, not Kentucky, you twit. The only gold here is in people’s teeth.   Q: I read where the “Japanese Bigfoot” is commonly referred to as…

Ghost Erasing Photos?

Q: I read where a guy vacationing in New Brunswick took a picture at the mouth of one of the caves along the cliffs there. He later saw that besides his daughters and a couple of tourists, there was the glowing image of a man who hadn’t been there when the photograph was taken. The photographer said he doesn’t believe in ghosts, but has no idea how the image appeared. After sharing it with a media source, the image on his phone went dark. Could the apparition have erased the evidence of his existence? A: I’d like to know how…

Mom’s Urn Stirring Up Trouble

Q: My mom was not the nicest person in the world and upset a few people while she was alive. Now that she has passed, I have brought her ashes into my home in a lovely urn. I’m wondering if can I should keep my mother’s ashes in my new home if my mother had such strong negative energy, because ever since I brought my mothers ashes in my house weird stuff has been happening. Can negative people leave their essence behind in ashes? A: I hope not. My friend has the ashes of her dog that bit everybody and…

Missing Time after a Trip to Walgreen’s

Q: I was at a neighborhood gathering where the conversation of time-lapse came up. This couple shared a story of how they recently went together to a Walgreens, their doctor’s office and several other places with no recollection of any of them. I have heard of examples of people missing time for a few minutes or longer, but not for an entire day. This is disturbing. Are you aware of similar events taking place over an entire day? A: If Walgreens was the first stop, where perhaps they picked up a prescription, what disturbs me most is that they drove…

Strange Aircraft in Texas

Q: I read an article about booms heard around the country in December. Now there is a claim that a disc-shaped object landed in a remote area of La Salle County in Texas the first week of January. I wonder what the possibilities are that some strange aircraft from parts unknown buzzed the country and landed near this oil rich area of Texas, maybe to refuel or something. Could it be we finally have proof of visitors or that our aerospace engineers have figured our supersonic travel? A: Wow, you must have read last month’s Excentric. I just hope whoever…

Humorous Crop Formation Discovered

Q: I recently read about a humorous crop formation discovered in a corn field near Wiltshire, UK depicting an alien smoking a pipe. When intricate crop circles first started appearing in the 1980s, I was utterly amazed and mystified, but not convinced they were created by extraterrestrials, as some believe. But I was puzzled by how the sometimes amazingly complex (and huge) formations could have been made by people. Do you believe these are man made or from outer space visitors? A: I’m not sure. The smoking gun may be the smoking alien circle.   Q: I heard that Serbian police…

The Life of People Stricken with Capgras’ Syndrome

Q: Imagine, if you will, that one by one your friends and family (the people closest to you) are being removed and replaced with exact duplicates. Although they are identical in appearance and manner, you are certain that these people are not your loved ones. While most people would become deeply paranoid in such a scenario, there are some individuals who experience such things every day without fear… and just wonder, why? Such is the life of people stricken with Capgras’ Syndrome. Are you faliliar with this? A: Of course. But then, how do I know you are who you…

Animal Communication

Q:  I read an article about “animal communicators,”  a growing number of people who say they have the psychic ability to communicate telepathically with various animals. Primates, most notably Koko, a gorilla who was taught sign language and has a vocabulary of more than 600 words may serve as an example. Koko is able to articulate basic desires as what and when she wants to eat, how she “feels” about many things. Does this prove it is possible to communicate with other animals, like our pets? A: Most men don’t communicate as well as Koko about their feelings. My dog…

Money Raining Down from the Sky

Q: There are many documented instances of money raining down from the skies. During a storm in August, 1940, numerous coins fell on the Meshchera region of Russia. In 1956, pennies and halfpennies plopped down on children in Hanham, England as they were heading home from school. And in 1976, two clergymen watched as 2,000 marks worth of banknotes fluttered down from a clear sky in Limburg, West Germany. What do you think caused these occurrences? A: I haven’t a clue. However, the meager amounts lead me to believe times are tight even in the heavens.   Q: By injecting…

JFK’s Ghost & More . . .

Q:  I read an article that claims humans have reached their analytical peak and won’t get any smarter. I look around me and have concluded that indeed people seem to be getting dumb and dumber. It’s like they have reverted back to time when humans were consumed with basic desires like food and drink and lusted for spending their free time betting on gladiator battles. Could it be humans are doomed to a future of grunt work followed by weekend warrior banality? A: Wow–most of what you said went way over my head. Q: The definition of UFO is Unidentified…

Trailer Haunted by Ghosts from a Nearby Graveyard

Q: I read that while shooting his latest film ‘Dog Fight’ in New Orleans, Will Ferrell reported hearing sounds in his trailer. After security cleared the trailer, Ferrell returned only to hear noises coming from the bathroom. Eerie, rattling noises forced the actor the declare the trailer was haunted by ghosts from a nearby graveyard. He returned to the set after producers brought in a new trailer. Why do you think ghosts would taunt Will Ferrell? A: My guess is that the ghosts may have been film critics that had seen some of his movies.   Q: In a recent…

Mysterious Flash of Light Occurred on Live Television

Q: A mysterious flash of light occurred on live television in Phoenix, Arizona during a morning newscast on Thursday, March 8. The light flash appeared during a traffic update on local Fox affiliate Fox 10. Anchor Andrea Robinson delivered the traffic report in front of a live video feed from a camera showing Phoenix’s 1-17 freeway and the northwest valley. The bright flash happened quickly, but the station certainly noticed. Utility companies denied any power anomaly. Any idea what caused the flash? A: Since it was on FOX, the president will most likely be blamed.   Q: I read an…

President Harrison is said to be heard rummaging around in the attic of the White House, while Andrew Jackson is thought to haunt his White House bedroom. The most frequently sighted presidential ghost has been that of Abraham Lincoln. Any thoughts? A: I have plenty of thoughts, just none on ghosts of former U.S. presidents.   Q:…

Hong Kong Ghosts Inhabiting Their Homes

Q: I read that for bargain hunters in Hong Kong’s turbocharged property market, apartments that belonged to the recently deceased are proving irresistible — and the more gruesome the occupant’s demise, the better. Popular belief in a city awash with superstition runs that the ghost of a person who dies in unnatural circumstances — a suicide, murder or bad accident — inhabits their home, passing misfortune onto the new occupants. Anything like that happening in the states? A: We don’t need suicides, murders or ghosts to reduce the value of homes in America. We have an unregulated banking system. Q:…

At first I laughed, but then realized that if angry cattle could upset the United States, what would rampant pigs do to the United Kingdom? It isn’t enough we must worry about terrorists, now we have to be on the lookout for deranged swine. Some attribute this to our eating habits, but it has nothing to do with haggis, neeps and tatties. A: I think mad cows were…

Christmas Ghosts

I was slightly bruised, but okay….

Strange and Unexplainable Things

Q: Nature does some strange and unexplainable things. I read where in 1877, Memphis, Tennessee experienced a rain of snakes that measured in length from between 12 and 18 inches. On September 4, 1886, three separate showers of polished stones fell on Charleston, South Carolina. And in 1893, a yellow-tinged cloud passing over Paderborn, Germany, released a shower of living pond mussels. Can you explain these phenomena? A: Right around this time, lobotomies were becoming a popular form of therapy and a vice for some doctors. Of course, in the Southern states, it was explained as voluntary experimental psychosurgery. All ghosts look alike. Q: I recently went to a website that showed pictures of what people thought were ghosts or unexplainable sources…

Virgin Birth and Unfinished Borscht-ness

They reproduce by parthenogenesis, or virgin birth, but why and where, has researchers baffled. Asexual reproduction–so rare that less than one species in 1,000 practices it–tends to occur in extreme environments, such as high altitudes, high latitudes, deserts and places disturbed by fires and droughts. Have you heard of such phenomena? A: I have heard that because of the small number of available decent men, Texas women are establishing asexual reproduction workshops.  …
